The 10th month’s Shramadan of the second phase of Swacch Mangaluru Abhiyan, organized by Ramakrishna Mission, focused on cleaning the Kuloor crematorium area. The event was inaugurated by Prashanth Baliga from MRPL and Dhanesh Kumar from NITTE Physiotherapy College, along with other dignitaries.
In his address, Baliga praised the Ramakrishna Mission for its efforts in transforming the Swacch Bharath Abhiyan into a widespread movement that involves the general public directly.
Following the inauguration, senior volunteers including Sowraj Mangaluru and Aniruddh Nayak, along with NSS officers from Mangala College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences, led college students in cleaning the surroundings. Activities included clearing the roads leading to the crematorium of plastic, garbage, and other debris.
Simultaneously, volunteers from Vidyanagar Sharada Seva Trust, Hindu Yuva Sene (Vidyanagar branch), and crematorium staff, guided by Avinash Anchan, Vijesh Devadiga, Rajeevi Chandrashekar, and Sajith, actively participated. Under the supervision of Professor Jayesh, students from NITTE Institute of Physiotherapy undertook cleaning tasks within the crematorium premises.
