The ancient Banyan tree in front of Pajiradka Sri Sadashiveshwara temple, a famous Sangam Kshetra in the history of Kalmanja village of the taluk, was damaged by the heavy rains.

Built around 800 years ago at the confluence of Netravati and Mrityunjaya rivers, this temple is famous for being the presence of the holy Lord Shiva who fulfills the wishes of devotees.

The temple is situated on the bank of river Netravati. It is the most suitable place for Tirtha bathing on Aati Amavasya, which is visited by thousands of devotees every year.

On the banks of the river that flows in front of the temple is an ancient banyan tree, a center of great devotion for nature-worshiping Hindus. Devotees coming to the temple used to circumambulate the banyan tree.

But due to the continuous rain in Belthangadi taluk, the soil loosened and the standing tree was uprooted.
