Around 50 people were rescued while another 30 remained stranded at Pali waterfall in Goa’s Sattari taluka on Sunday as the water level rose suddenly amid heavy downpours, according to an official. The rescue operation is currently underway at the waterfall with assistance from personnel of Fire and Emergency Services.

The waterfall experienced a large number of visitors in the morning, requiring crossing a river to reach the picturesque spot. Due to heavy rains, the water flow at the waterfall unexpectedly increased, catching the monsoon visitors by surprise. The swollen river further trapped them, the official explained. Superintendent of Police (North) Akshat Kaushal reported that 50 people have been rescued, with efforts ongoing to rescue the remaining 30 individuals stranded at the waterfall.
