Deputy Commissioner Gurudatta Hegde urged public participation to clean water-filling drums, buckets, tanks, and other collection equipment, and to dispose of solid waste from rainwater. To control dengue fever, the government suggests observing every Friday as a day to eliminate Aedes mosquito larvae breeding sites. The Deputy Commissioner visited homes in Seshadripuram and nearby areas to raise awareness on Friday.
The ongoing rainy season is expected to increase cases of dengue fever, prompting intensified efforts by the health department. Asha workers, Anganwadi workers, and health workers are conducting door-to-door surveys to identify larvae and educate the public. District Health Officer Dr. Nataraj emphasized the importance of making Aedes Mosquito Eradication Day a routine practice to permanently change behavior, urging full cooperation from everyone.
Meanwhile, health department doctors and workers continue to visit households to identify and eliminate breeding sites, as well as raise awareness. Present during these efforts were District Communicable Disease Control Officer Dr. Gududappa Kasabi, RCHO Dr. Nagaraj Naik, Taluk Health Officer Dr. Chandrasekhar, Dr. Sridhar, Asha workers, Anganwadi workers, and health staff.
