Bengaluru is bracing for steady rainfall until July 8, amidst a broader forecast of extensive precipitation across the state until July 12. The Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) has issued alerts predicting moderate to heavy showers in various regions, with isolated areas likely to experience intense rainfall.

C S Patil, director of the India Meteorological Centre in Bengaluru, reported significant early July rainfall in coastal and western ghat regions, including 34 mm recorded in Agumbe on July 3. Conversely, Malenadu district has now caught up with its typical rainfall levels for this time of year.

According to updates from ‘Karnataka Weather’, clouds were observed gathering over northern and northwestern parts of Bengaluru, with reports of light rain in areas like Whitefield following a comparatively calm day.

The KSNDMC’s latest bulletin notes that the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an “orange alert” for Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Chikkamagaluru, and Shivamogga districts, indicating heavy to very heavy rainfall expected. Additionally, a “yellow alert” is in place for Belagavi, Dharwad, and Kodagu districts, signaling moderate rainfall.

As Bengaluru gears up for continued rainfall, residents are advised to stay informed about weather updates and take necessary precautions to ensure safety during this period of anticipated precipitation.
