During the monsoon season, over 100 families in Kundapur taluk encounter significant challenges annually. They are confined to their homes for four to five days, relying on boats even for basic essentials such as salt, groceries, and vegetables.

Political representatives and government officials visit these flood-affected areas only during emergencies and often do not return afterward. Villages like Navunda, Badakere, Maravanthe, Salbuda, Arehole, Konki, Kudru, Chikkalli, and Padukone face recurrent flooding issues, impacting residents severely. To cope, households maintain three to four boats ready for use, with even sick individuals needing boat rides to reach the market, three kilometers away. Many local youths proficient in boating contribute to community assistance.

Byndoor fire service personnel are actively engaged in flood relief operations from early morning. Byndoor taluk administration officer Pradeep, along with Bharati Byndoor, fire service personnel, Byndoor police station staff, Navunda gram panchayat members, and officials from Nada gram panchayat, have convened to advise the public on precautionary measures.
