Exclusive: Junaid Khan Auditioned For Aamir Khan’s Role In Laal Singh Chaddha!

Must read

Superstar Aamir Khan has been a stalwart in Bollywood for over three decades, renowned for iconic films like Lagaan, Ghajini, and Dhoom 3. Recently, his older son Junaid Khan made his debut in Aditya Chopra’s Maharaj, a film about the 1862 Maharaj Libel Case, directed by Siddharth P Malhotra. Despite facing legal challenges, the movie finally premiered on Netflix last month after a three-year journey.

Notably, few know that Junaid almost debuted in Laal Singh Chaddha, the official remake of Forrest Gump starring Tom Hanks. In an exclusive interview with ETimes, Junaid revealed, I actually auditioned for Laal Singh Chaddha as my father publicly mentioned. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out, though Papa (Aamir Khan) was very keen on me doing the film. Director Siddharth P Malhotra confirmed Junaid auditioned for the lead role of Laal Singh Chaddha and praised his audition, expressing interest in releasing the footage someday. Junaid underwent a remarkable physical transformation before entering the industry, shedding about 26 kgs. When asked about his fitness journey involving his brother-in-law Nupur Shikhare, he replied, He wasn’t involved… he’s on another level. By the time I auditioned for Laal, I had already started losing weight. It took me about two years to achieve my current form.

Next, Junaid will star alongside Sai Pallavi in Ek Din, produced by Aamir Khan’s production company.
