A woman was discovered dead at a man’s inner-west Sydney home on Thursday, leading to his arrest.

According to a statement from the New South Wales Police Force, emergency personnel were summoned to a residence on Clements Street in Russell Lea shortly after 11:00 a.m. local time due to complaints of a domestic disturbance.

The suburb, which is home to about 5,000 people, is situated 6 kilometers west of Sydney’s central business district, according to the source.

Officers discovered the body of a lady in her 50s—whose identification has not yet been officially confirmed—when they arrived.
The woman knew the 42-year-old male, who was escorted to the Burwood police station after being apprehended there.
The source was informed by Detective Superintendent Christine McDonald that the female victim suffered severe and many upper body stab wounds.
The two lived together, but it’s not thought that they were in a close relationship, therefore police are looking into the stabbing as a case of domestic violence, McDonald said during a press conference.
