Udupi
An accident occurred on the highway when a private bus abruptly stopped without warning, causing a car to collide into its rear. The incident resulted in severe injuries to Pushpalatha Acharya (56) of Mangaladevi. She sustained injuries to her hands, legs, and nose while seated in the front passenger seat of the car. The collision involved a car carrying Pushpalatha, her daughter, and a relative. After receiving first aid in Padubidri, Pushpalatha was quickly taken to a private hospital in Mangaluru. The Padubidri police have visited the scene and registered a case. Despite the presence of a service road, many express buses traveling between Mangaluru and Udupi tend to stop directly on the highway, endangering other motorists.
