Mamadapur Lake Rejuvenation By Coca-Cola Company: MB Patil

Coca-Cola Company has come forward to revive the historical Mamadapur lake in Babaleshwar taluk of Vijayapura district at a cost of one crore rupees, District In-charge Minister MB Patil said on Friday.

High officials of the company Himanshu Priyadarshi and Mukund Trivedi met the minister here and discussed about this.

Built in the 16th century during the reign of the Adil Shahi Sultans, Mamdapur Lake is one of the largest lakes in the state and irrigates 674 acres of neat area, he said.

The Coca-Cola Company will construct a dam and dredge of the main channel to bring water to the lake. He also informed that the lake will be strengthened, fence, footpath and children’s play area will be provided.

The lake is surrounded by 1,654 acres of lush green forest. The Minister expressed confidence that this place will become a tourist attraction after the restoration of the lake.
