Right-Wing Activist Assaulted Over Election Victory Celebration

A member of a local organization assaulted a Bajrang Dal activist at Kumpala Kesari Nagara. Praveen Poojary, also known as Pitty (39), a resident of Kumpala and a Bajrang Dal activist, was assaulted by Gautam, a member of the local Kesari Mitra Vrinda.

Following the election results declared on June 4, a verbal argument ensued between members of Kesari Mitra Vrinda and Bajrang Dal. As a continuation of the feud, Praveen Poojary, who was returning home from work, was waylaid by Gautam. Gautam assaulted Praveen and pushed him into a roadside drain. Praveen received head injuries due to the fall and is admitted to a private hospital in Thokkottu.

It is said that Gautam, who assaulted Praveen, is a Congress worker. He allegedly took revenge on Praveen out of jealousy for bursting crackers in celebration of the BJP candidate’s victory. This message has gone viral on social media.

Ullal Police are investigating further.
