Bharatiya Janata Party’s IT cell head, Amit Malviya, alleged that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee made derogatory remarks during her campaign, suggesting that religious texts like the Ramayan, Mahabharat, Bible, and Quran would eventually vanish. Malviya condemned Banerjee’s statement, expressing disbelief that any political leader would desire the extinction of revered religious scriptures from any faith.

Malviya criticized Banerjee, accusing her of displaying contempt towards Hindu beliefs while secretly hoping for the Quran’s disappearance to gain favor with Muslim voters. He also slammed Banerjee for directing Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim to apologize specifically to Muslims, rather than to adherents of all faiths, for her remarks.

Highlighting a video snippet of Banerjee’s purported speech, where she allegedly mentioned the potential disappearance of religious texts, Malviya questioned why only Hakim apologized to Muslims and not to people of other faiths. He recalled Banerjee’s past controversial statements about Muslims and her attacks on Hindu institutions.

Accusing Banerjee of divisive politics, Malviya contrasted her approach with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s focus on inclusive development. He predicted that Banerjee’s governance failures and divisive tactics would lead to her downfall, as people from all communities would unite against her.
