Shivamogga

It is very important for the government employees to have resilience and time consciousness.  The public work must be carried out honestly.  Substantives try to make a mess. They must be answered with efficiency, honesty and performance, the chief minister said.

He was speaking after inaugurating the Government employees day organized by District Government employees association and distributing most outstanding awards.

Provide justice to the post

Government employees in Karnataka are known as the most efficient in the country.  This is because of employees and officials who have worked for several decades. It is our duty and moral responsibility to continue this legacy. We have to understand our responsibility clearly. Then only we can provide justice to the post and work.  Till the importance of this is not known, government employees cannot give justice to the public.  We must have clarity on administration.  I we discharge our duties honestly we can contribute to the development of the state, he said.

One must not use the power for achieving self interests.  The role of state and central governments in the union system is clearly stated. The power of government employees should be used publicly and not for personal gain. The work must be carried as per the stipulated law, he said.

Work for the poor

When providing explanation, think of the poor man of society and remember his tears and then judge, not in favour of the rich.  If there is a cause that is good for the poor and the masses, do it. Opinions must be entered in the files. The subject can be practiced from all directions. The second commission for reforms in governance has given its interim mandate to reduce decision-making. We will take all measures to improve them. We should all work together in the same spirit, the chief minister said.

Use technology to clear the work within the stipulated time

After globalization, liberalization, the social, economic, educational changes have taken place.  This has affected on the government employees also.  Works are being carried out in private partnerships. In times of change, our way of thinking and decision-making should change. If you are able to make use of technology, every decisions will be made quickly. There is a need for technology in order to get the job done in time. Technology should be used in everything from Gram Panchayat to Legislative Assembly. It is a mirror for your efficiency and concern for you when judged on time, he said.

Avoid people’s visiting offices

Avoiding people’s visiting offices several times by completing the work on time, thus freeing corruption in the system.  The salaries of government employees are paid from the sweat of poor.   More than 2 lakh posts are vacant, but it is a pleasure to work without any complications. The DA has been enhanced twice a year within just one day of the announcement by the central government. Action will be taken on formation of pay commission, he said.

Purity comes from efficiency in governance

There should be comfort for the people, compassion for the poor, concern for the development of the state.  There is no compromise by the government in taking action against corruption.  The efficiency of governance comes from its purity. The idea is to recognize and reward employees who have done well at different levels, different sectors at district and taluk level. Let us make a decision to build a new Karnataka, he said.
