The deteriorating condition of the footpath at the Toll Gate bus stop along Magadi Road has raised concerns among daily commuters, especially with the approaching monsoon season. The state of the footpath not only jeopardizes pedestrian safety but also poses challenges for elderly individuals who rely on the bus stop for seating.
Despite the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) introducing low floor buses to facilitate easier boarding for elderly passengers, the condition of the bus stop remains a pressing issue. The bus stand, located at an elevated position compared to the footpath, utilizes a single concrete slab as a step, further aggravated safety concerns.
With the bus stop frequently congested during the evening rush hours, the risks associated with the damaged footpath are significantly heightened. Navigating through the crowded space becomes increasingly arduous, particularly with the onset of the monsoon season.
