According to Ukrainian officials on Wednesday, Ukraine’s energy system was once again targeted from the air by Russia. Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko announced on Facebook that power generation and distribution facilities in six regions, including Poltava, Kirovohrad, Zaporizhzhya, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Vinnytsia, were attacked overnight on Tuesday.

Galushchenko stated that technicians are currently working to repair the damage, with the exact extent still being determined. He emphasized that the enemy aims to diminish Ukraine’s ability to produce and transmit electricity adequately, urging people to conserve electricity as a contribution to victory.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported night-time air alerts across the country, with Russian combat drones and missiles flying over large parts of Ukraine, including an incident targeting Kiev. However, the military command in the capital confirmed interception of all approaching objects. In Brovary suburb, Mayor Ihor Saposchko reported a fire at an unspecified civilian infrastructure object, resulting in injuries to a man and a woman.

Additionally, according to the Ukrainian Air Force, a Kinzhal hypersonic missile was fired at western Ukraine. These attacks are part of Russia’s ongoing aggression against Ukraine, which began over two years ago. Moscow’s actions not only target military objectives but also aim to disable Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, with civilian targets frequently affected.
