Second Phase Of LS Elections: 34,110 People Voted From Home

In the 14 constituencies where the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections will be held in the state, 34,110 people, including senior citizens above 85 years and the disabled, have voted from home.
A total of 23,213 people above 85 years of age have registered, of which 21,892 senior citizens, 10,897 persons with disabilities have registered out of which 10,566 have exercised their right. Besides, postal voting also started from Wednesday and voting can be done daily from 9 am to 5 pm till May 3.
In the 2nd phase, polling for Davanagere, Shivamogga, Haveri, Dharwad, Ballari, Raichur, Koppal, Bagalkot, Bidar, Vijayapura, Kalaburagi, Belagavi, Chikkodi and Uttara Kannada Lok Sabha constituencies will be held on May 7.
In Shivamogga Lok Sabha constituency, which has attracted the attention of the state, former Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa’s son BY Vijayendra, Independent candidate, former Deputy Chief Minister KS Eshwarappa and actor Shivrajkumar’s wife Geetha Shivrajkumar from Congress are the candidates.
Similarly, in Davangere, Minister SS Mallikarjun’s wife Dr Prabha Mallikarjun, MP Siddeshwar’s wife Gayatri Siddeshwar, former Minister B Sreeramalu in Ballari, former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai in Haveri, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi in Dharwad, former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar in Belagavi, Union Minister Bhagwant Khuba in Bidar are the main candidates in the fray.
Radhakrishnan, the son-in-law of AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, from Kalaburagi Constituency, Priyanka Jarakiholi from Chikkodi, Mrinal Hebbalkar from Belagavi, MLA Tukaram in Ballari, Sagar Khandre from Bidar, are in the arena.
