Minor Altercation During Karaga Festival Turns Fatal Near Annamma Temple

During the Karaga festival as a dispute between minor boys over a trivial matter culminated in a fatal stabbing near Annamma temple in Gandhinagar, resulting in the demise of 17-year-old Sarathi, a resident of JCW Colony, Seshadripur.

The altercation unfolded in the early hours of Wednesday amidst the festive fervor, as Sarathi and other minors engaged in dancing rituals associated with Karaga. The deceased, employed as a laborer, had joined the revelry around 3:30 am, only for the celebration to take a sinister turn.

An argument erupted among the boys, reportedly triggered by an issue pertaining to physical contact during the dance. As tensions escalated, the altercation escalated into a violent confrontation, leading to Sarathi being fatally stabbed in the chest with flower shears.

Upparapet police responded to the incident, arresting four minors implicated in the event.
