Manipal Hospital Facilitates Inpatients To Vote

Manipal Hospital, the Election Commission of India (ECI), and the BBMP, 41 patients aged between 25 to 103 years were enabled to exercise their voting rights on Friday.

As the second phase of parliamentary elections unfolds, encompassing 14 constituencies across the state, including three in Bengaluru, Manipal Hospital has stepped forward to facilitate voting for inpatients in need.

Karthik Rajagopal, the Chief Operating Officer of Manipal Hospitals, highlighted the participation of individuals such as 103-year-old Nanjunda Swamy, a cancer survivor, Kalawathi aged 78, battling cancer, Srinivasa Rao aged 76, grappling with pneumonia, and Madhan aged 25, a survivor of a neurological surgery following an accident.

Despite facing medical challenges, these patients demonstrated their determination to fulfill their civic duty by casting their votes. Rajagopal emphasized the hospital’s commitment to its civic responsibility, ensuring medical support for patients while enabling their participation in the democratic process.
