The development has been affected due to the rise in the unproductive expenditure, said former Chief Minister and Gadag-Haveri Lok Sabha constituency BJP candidate Basavaraj Bommai.
Addressing the meeting of District Contractors’ Association on Monday, he said the contractors would know what kind of development works were done by the state government. It was a known fact that how the contractors get job, level of harassment and problems in clearing the bills. While one was the economic development and the other was the social development. But the capital expenditure on these two had been very less in the state budget. The unproductive expenditure has gone up. What they required was the speedy development. Delay in the clearing of bill had been the biggest problem, he stated.
Bommai said the government work must be continuous and development must be around the people. The previous BJP government had taken care of the small, medium and big contractors equally but they were facing lot of problems in the present government. He said he haven’t interfered in the works of contractors in the district.
Contractors Mahesh Haveri, Kumar Hattikal, Srikant Dundigoudar and Arjun Hanchinmani were present.
