Addressing the campaign in several villages in Ron taluk on Thursday, former Chief Minister and Gadag-Haveri Lok Sabha constituency BJP candidate Basavaraj Bommai said that even after ten years of governance, still 75 per cent of the people of the country are supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and there has been pro-Modi wave across the country.

He said the election was not pertaining to the state but to the development and future of the nation. Modi has ruled the country for a decade but still there has been wave in his favour, he said, adding that over 75 per cent of the population has been supporting him and the rest of them were opposed to him.

He said when the PM’s mother died, he took two hours break to complete the rituals and again got back to work to perform Hindu rituals. The country’s population has been considered as asset and showed it to the whole world, he added. Nearly 15 crore people had been lifted from the Below Poverty Line and provided piped water to every house, he added further, crediting him for achieving impossible things had been the hallmark mark of Modi. The Modi government had responded whenever the people were in distress. The Prime Minister’s popularity has not come down even after ten years. For the Congress party, the popularity was not important but one can become the Prime Minister only if they have the blessings of the Gandhi family, Bommai said.
