During her Eid festival address on Thursday, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee criticized the Centre, alleging that its unleashing Central agencies like the ED, CBI, and now NIA before the upcoming elections. She suggested that instead of this, the Centre should have built a massive prison to accommodate everything. Mamata emphasized her resolve to confront such challenges, likening herself to a Royal Bengal Tiger.

She also accused the BJP of pushing for divisive measures like the National Register of Citizens (NRC), Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), and Uniform Civil Code (UCC). She expressed opposition to hate speeches and the division of people based on these issues, advocating for unity among all religions.

Her remarks followed Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement at an election rally in Balurghat, where he affirmed the implementation of the CAA regardless of Mamata’s opposition.

Addressing the gathering at Red Road, Mamata Banerjee subtly urged against splitting the anti-BJP votes in West Bengal, urging people to support only the Trinamool Congress. She emphasized that in West Bengal, only her party is actively opposing the BJP, implying that voting for any other party would weaken this opposition.
