Vijayapura
Vadiraj Gopalrao Patil, a 30-year-old resident of Vijayapura, accomplished a solo journey on his motorbike to Ayodhya’s Sri Ram temple. Covering a distance of 3,450 kilometers over ten days, Patil embarked on this expedition from his hometown behind the railway station.
Originally from Puradal (Korwar) village in Sindgi taluk, Patil, an MBA graduate formerly employed at a bank in Bengaluru, discovered a passion for solo riding. As a member of the Gandhada Gudi Bikers’ Club, he has already completed numerous solo rides, totaling to a dozen.
Motivated by the consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla at the newly constructed temple in Ayodhya, Patil embarked on his journey on March 23 aboard his Bajaj Pulsar, ultimately reaching Ayodhya on March 29. His daily rides averaged between 400 to 700 kilometers, with two-day stopovers in Prayagraj and Kashi.
Sharing an intriguing anecdote from his trip, Patil recounted an incident at a dhaba in Jabalpur, where the owner, upon learning of his journey from Ayodhya, offered him food and rest. Grateful for the hospitality, Patil accepted the offer and rested for four hours, which turned out to be a fortuitous decision. Later, he encountered a traffic jam where vehicles were stranded for hours. Reflecting on the incident, Patil attributed it to divine intervention, expressing gratitude for the timely rest provided by the dhaba owner.
