The Adani Group’s new Navi Mumbai airport is on track to start operations by mid-2025, announced Group CFO Jugeshinder ‘Robbie’ Singh. This update follows a recent successful landing by the Indian Air Force at the airport’s runway, showcasing its operational readiness.
While presenting Adani Enterprises’ quarterly and half-year financial results, Singh highlighted the addition of six new routes, six airlines, and 13 flights across Adani’s seven active airports. The Navi Mumbai airport will include a 3,700-meter runway, advanced passenger terminals, and upgraded air traffic control systems. Terminal 1 alone is expected to accommodate up to 20 million travelers annually, with a projected total capacity of 90 million passengers once fully completed.
Since entering civil aviation in 2019, Adani Airport Holdings Limited, a subsidiary of Adani Enterprises, has grown to handle 25% of India’s passenger traffic and 33% of air cargo. The company initially expanded by winning bids to manage six airports, including Ahmedabad and Lucknow.
In terms of financials, Adani Enterprises saw a 664% rise in net profits in Q2 (July-September) to ₹1,741 crore, up from ₹228 crore the previous year. Over the first half of FY 2024-25, profits grew by 254% to ₹3,196 crore. The total income for the same period rose 14%, reaching ₹49,263 crore, and EBITDA achieved a half-yearly record of ₹8,654 crore, driven by the company’s core infrastructure businesses.
