Shivamogga
Sculptor Arun Yogiraj reflected on his journey and the significance of Rama’s idol during an event at Ambedkar Bhawan in Shivamogga. Collaborating with various organizations, he received honors for crafting the Sriramalalla idol of Ayodhya.
Arun pondered why Rama’s idol is so revered, particularly after the unveiling of Balarama’s carving in Ayodhya Ram Mandir. He shared his personal experience, revealing that his father didn’t appreciate his work until the Ramlalla idol was revealed.
Despite carving for two decades, Arun’s father didn’t acknowledge his talent until then. However, upon the unveiling of Ramlalla’s idol, his father finally recognized his skills, acknowledging his grandfather’s legacy.
The event, presided over by spiritual leaders Shivasugyana Swamiji and Sankara Atmananda Saraswati Mahaswamiji, honored Arun with the title of Devashilpi. Niranjana Murthy of Vishwakarma Mahasabha also played a key role in organizing the event.
