With education being the cornerstone of human development, it’s alarming to witness numerous scams plaguing the educational sphere. The trailer of “Scam 1770,” which promises to uncover such scams, was recently released. Adarsh, a student and newspaper hawker did the honours.

Produced by Devraj R and directed by Vikas Pushpagiri, the film features Ranjan, of the “Sarkari Hiriya Parthamika Shaale, Kasargod,” fame. Speaking at the trailer launch event, members of the film crew emphasized the urgency to address the deficiencies in the current education system.

“Scam 1770” serves as a wakeup call, reminding us that education should not merely be a transaction but a transformative experience. While one may recover from other mistakes in life, a flawed education can be detrimental. Unfortunately, such flawed education disproportionately affects the underprivileged and middle-class sections of society.

Scheduled for release on April 12, the film aims to engage both students and parents alike in a critical discourse on education. Producer Devraj expressed gratitude towards the entire team for their efforts in bringing this project to fruition, stressing the importance of fostering a culture of quality cinema.

While working on the set of “Kantara,” the crew were forbidden from using the phone. Ranjan, who was on the Kantara sets recalled, “I was initially unaware of the attempts by the “Scam 1770” team to contact me until a friend informed me. In “Scam 1770,” I portray an intelligent person. In “Sarkari Hirya..” my role was of “Stupid Praveen,” which was totally different.”

Other cast members include Nishvitha, Harini, Narayanaswamy, Prashanth and Raghu Shivamogga. Music director Satish Arya, and writer Shankar Raman, provided further details about the film’s narrative and their experiences working on it.

“Scam 1770” not only promises to be an eye-opener but also a catalyst for much-needed reform in the education sector. As we eagerly await its release, let us heed the film’s message and strive for a more equitable and inclusive educational landscape.
