Manipur’s Security Advisor, Kuldiep Singh, issued a stern warning on Saturday to those responsible for attacking a security forces camp in Bishnupur district. The attack killed two CRPF personnel and injured two others.

Singh told reporters that the government is determined to bring the perpetrators to justice. Those who committed this act will face severe consequences. We are using all available resources to find them, he said. The attack occurred early Saturday when militants fired at the India Reserve Battalion (IRBn) camp in Naranseina, Moirang. Despite retaliation by the security forces, two personnel succumbed to their injuries.

Singh announced that security operations are being intensified, with Assam Rifles and the army increasing their presence. We are stepping up day-to-day operations and won’t leave any stone unturned to catch those responsible, he added.

Regarding a recent IED explosion that damaged a bridge in Kangpokpi district, Singh expressed concern over attacks on infrastructure and central forces. Targeting roads, bridges, and central forces will not be tolerated. We’ll investigate and take action against the culprits, he said.

Singh was surprised by the attack, noting that both Meitei and Kuki militants traditionally avoided targeting forces maintaining peace. We’ve always maintained neutrality between these groups. Why attack central forces now? he asked.

The deceased were sub-inspector N Sarkar from Assam’s Kokrajhar district and head constable Arup Saini from West Bengal’s Bankura district. The injured were inspector Jadav Das and Constable Aftab Das, who sustained splinter injuries.
