Police in Goa have located Aarti Hamal, the 36-year-old daughter of a mayor in Nepal, two days after she was reported missing. She was found at a hotel in Chopdem village, North Goa, about 20 km from where she disappeared on March 25. Hamal had been staying at the Osho meditation center near Mandrem in North Goa for a month before she went missing, prompting the center’s management to file a missing person’s report.
Prior to her disappearance, Hamal was last seen in Siolim, North Goa. A search operation was launched across the state, with eyewitnesses confirming she was in her senses when last seen. Despite leaving her phone behind at the Osho center, preventing tracking via technical surveillance, police searched extensively, including other Osho centers in Canacona.
Hamal was eventually found in a hotel in Chopdem village with two friends. Police are now taking her statement, and her family has arrived in the state. Earlier, her father had sought public assistance via social media to locate her.
