Ahead of Tehri Lok Sabha candidate Mala Rajyalakshmi Shah’s nomination, a roadshow was held in Dehradun on Tuesday, featuring Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Thousands lined the streets, showering flowers and chanting supportive slogans for Chief Minister Dhami, who reciprocated with flower showers and waves. Meanwhile, BJP’s Pauri Garhwal candidate Anil Baluni filed his nomination in Pauri district with Union Minister Smriti Irani present, followed by a planned public meeting.
Congress nominee Jot Singh Gunsola also submitted nomination papers. Uttarakhand’s five Lok Sabha seats will see elections on April 19 in a single phase. In the 2019 elections, BJP secured all five seats with 61.7% of the vote share, while Congress received 31.7% and BSP 4.5%. Earlier, CM Dhami participated in a Holi Milan event at his official residence, joining festivities with Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh and former CMs Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri, and Harish Rawat.
