A gas tanker overturned at Shiradighat on Highway 75 near Maranahalli village on Tuesday night. At the double turn cross, the driver lost control of the gas tanker and overturned.
All types of vehicular traffic on Shiradi route has been closed till 12 midnight on Wednesday due to massive gas leakage from tanker.
Also, on the reference of District Superintendent of Police Mohammad Sujeeta, Deputy Commissioner C Satyabhama has indicated that all types of vehicles will be allowed to travel on the alternate route.
Vehicles plying towards Mangalore from Sakalespur have been advised to reach Mangalore via Sakalespur, Anemahal, Hanubalu, Mudigere, Charmadi.
Similarly, those going towards Bengaluru should travel through Hassan, Belur, Mudigere. All types of vehicles have been banned for the time being in the interest of the public and to ensure that no untoward incident takes place due to the Anil tanker. As soon as the news was heard, fire brigade personnel and rural station police rushed to the spot and took all kinds of precautionary measures.
