The 14th edition of MK Nambyar National Level Moot Court Competition, organised by KLS’s Raja Lakhamgouda Law College, Belagavi for three days concluded. As many as 40 teams from 10 different states including Goa, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Kerala participated in the competition.
Addressing the students during the valedictory event, Justice ES Indiresh, Judge, High Court of Karnataka said there is a good career option for the students opting law stream.
In his presidential remarks, Advocate PS Sawkar, Chairperson of Karnatak Law Society said, nothing can be achieved in an instant like AI and ChatGPT. One can grow in the legal profession only through hard work, he said.
Principal AH Hawaldar, KLS Secretary VG Kulkarni, member of the governing council of the college RS Mutalik, Moot Court Coordinator Prof Ashwini Parab, Secretary Shruti Kolaki, Khushi Kathariya and Sarthak Hiremath were present.
St Joseph’s College of Law, Bengaluru won the first prize worth a cash purse of Rs 50,000 and a trophy. United World School of Law of Karnavati University, Gujarat was the runner-up, winning a cash prize of Rs 30,000 and a trophy.
B Mohan Gowda of St Joseph’s College of Law, Bengaluru won the best speaker award in the male category, while Shruthi J Patil from United World School of Law, Gujarat won in the female section. The best memorial award was won by the Symbiosis Law School, Pune, while Abhavya Sharan from Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, Lucknow, won the best researcher award.
Advocate AM Potdar cash prize and award for best mooter was shared between B Mohan Gowda of St Joseph’s College of Law, Bengaluru and Shreevara P of SDM Law College, Mangaluru.
