Magician Kudroli Ganesh said that despite magic being a widely recognised art form globally, it has yet to be included in the list of art forms by the Department of Kannada and culture.
Speaking after receiving the guest of honour award at a programme held at the Patrika Bhavan, he said, the government must consider the demand to include magic in the list of art forms and must give recognition to magicians.
The state has around 500 professional and amateur magicians, he said. Further, he said that people should provide more opportunities for magicians to keep the art form alive. Ganesh said the absence of structured training could be the reason behind the decline of the art form.
