A horrifying incident unfolded in Malleswaram, Bengaluru, where a cab driver was dragged for 400 meters on the bonnet of a car after confronting the other driver about a collision. The shocking act was captured by a CCTV camera, and the footage has since gone viral. The police have initiated a case under the Non-Cognizable Report (NCR) against the car driver, Mohammad Muneer, and are actively investigating the incident. On January 15, a collision occurred between the cab driven by Ashwath and Mohammad Muneer’s car near Maramma Temple in Malleswaram Circle. Following the collision, Ashwath signaled Muneer to stop the cab. However, Muneer attempted to drive away without stopping, prompting Ashwath to climb onto the car’s bonnet and gesture for him to stop. Shockingly, Ashwath was dragged for a distance of 400 meters while holding onto the bonnet. Despite locals rushing to the scene, the car did not come to a halt. It is reported that Ashwath attempted to apply the brakes during the ordeal, but the car continued moving, posing a grave risk to his life. Upon receiving information about the incident, the staff from Malleswaram police station and the Hoysala team reached the spot, took Muneer into custody, and registered an NCR. As of now, no formal complaint has been lodged, and the police are gathering information based on the CCTV footage. Joint Commissioner of Police, Traffic Department, MN Anucheth, affirmed that appropriate action will be taken against the driver following a thorough investigation. The incident underscores the importance of road safety and responsible driving.
