MLA P Ravikumar advised the officers to get ready to celegrate the new Budanur festival on Mach 2 and 3 in a grand manner.
He was addressing a preliminary preparatory meeting at the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Tuesday.
He said that this is the first time that the festival is being organised at the village level by the district administration and diverse programs should be organized so that more public can participate. He said that there are temples of Hoysala period in New Budanur, the purpose of the festival is to preserve the historical and ancient temple and introduce it to the people.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Kumar said that various committees including cultural, reception, food, health and cleanliness will be formed to conduct the festival neatly. He said that the festival should not be limited to New Budanur but should include the surrounding villages and organise the programme. Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr HL Nagaraju said that priority will be given to the local artists in the cultural programme.
Assistant Commissioner Shivamurthy, District Health Officer Dr Mohan, Food Department Joint Director Krishna Kumar, Kannada and Culture Department Assistant Director Uday, Tahsildar Shivakumar Biradar, Executive Officer Veena, Tourism Department Officer Kiran and others were present.
