Must read

In a bold move, journalists have stepped into the ominous world of cybercrime, revealing the teaser for the upcoming film “The Dark Web.” This new venture, released online, showcases the talents of media professionals who have come together to create a cinematic experience based on the dark underbelly of the digital world.

“The Dark Web,” set to release soon in Sandalwood, adds another dimension to the diverse array of films coming out of the Kannada film industry. What makes this film particularly intriguing is that it features journalists themselves in various roles, breaking away from traditional cinematic norms. Manju Banavase, a journalist, and Nagaraj, a news anchor, have collaborated under the banner of MN Cinemas to bring a cybercrime-based narrative to the silver screen.

The teaser, centered around a gripping cybercrime storyline, has heightened curiosity among the audience. Chetan, a budding talent, takes on the lead role, while Meghana essays the character of a journalist.

Manju Banavase, who also plays a police officer in the film, shared insights into the making of “The Dark Web.” Kiran Swamy directs the film, and Chandramouli handles the cinematography, while Vishak Nagalapur provides the musical backdrop.

Speaking about the project, Manju Banavase said, “We all dreamt of making movies since our college days. It was challenging as most of us were newcomers, and budget constraints were a reality. But the passion and love for cinema drove us to make this film. We have portrayed the daily crime stories we report on in the form of a movie. We did not make the film for profit; it was purely for the love and madness for cinema.”
