Navy To Showcase Rising Combat Prowess, ‘Atmanirbharta’, Nari-Shakti At R-Day Parade

The Indian Navy will showcase its military strength and unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation’s strategic interests during the Republic Day parade. Against the backdrop of escalating tensions in the Red Sea, the naval tableau will also highlight the Navy’s dedication to ‘Nari Shakti,’ focusing on women in all roles and ranks. Three women platoon commanders Lt Mudita Goyal, Lt Sharvani Supreiya, and Lt Devika H will lead the contingent, reflecting a commitment to gender neutrality with a mixed composition of 144 young men and women.

The tableau will feature the first fully indigenous Carrier Battle Group, including the aircraft carrier INS Vikrant, escort ships Delhi, Kolkata, Shivalik, Kalvari-class submarine, light combat aircraft, and advanced light helicopter. Additionally, it will depict the multi-band military communications satellite GSAT-7 and Rukmani satellite. Vice Admiral Gurcharan Singh emphasized that the display goes beyond showcasing military might; it signifies a resolve to protect the nation’s strategic interests and underscores self-reliance and gender neutrality.

The Navy’s central theme revolves around ‘Aatmanirbharta,’ showcasing indigenous milestones, with INS Vikrant symbolizing the first-ever fully indigenous carrier battle group. The tableau depicts India’s maritime prowess, emphasizing self-reliance and inclusivity. The Navy, currently deploying warships in strategic waters, aims to project maritime power and address multi-dimensional threats. The marching contingent includes a mixed composition platoon highlighting the Navy’s commitment to gender neutrality, symbolizing a strong and cohesive institution embracing inclusivity.
