Illegal Gas Refilling Units Raided In Bengaluru By Economic Offences Wing

The Economic Offences Wing of the City Crime Branch (CCB) police in Bengaluru conducted raids on a shed in CK Achukattu and a house in Bellandur, suspected to be operating as illegal gas refilling units in the city. Acting on a tip-off, the officials seized a total of 290 LPG gas cylinders and other equipment valued at Rs 33 lakh during the operations. In the CK Achukattu area, the police confiscated 140 regular LPG cylinders, 30 small commercial cylinders, five refilling rods, 200 counterfeit company seals, three regulators, and three goods canter trucks. Simultaneously, in Bellandur, 120 LPG cylinders, five refilling rods, and 100 counterfeit company seals were seized from a residential property. The combined efforts of the raids resulted in a significant haul of illegal equipment used for gas refilling. The seized items have an estimated value of Rs 33 lakh. Two separate cases have been registered in connection with these illegal operations, and investigations are currently underway to ascertain the details and individuals involved in these activities. The crackdown on illegal gas refilling units aims to ensure public safety and curb unauthorized and potentially hazardous practices in the city.
