Tragic Accidents Claim Lives Of Swiggy And Zomato Delivery Boys In City

On Saturday, two separate tragic accidents took the lives of delivery boys working for Swiggy and Zomato in the Yashwantpur and HAL traffic police station areas in Bengaluru. In the first incident, 29-year-old J.P. L.M. Anilkumar, a Swiggy delivery boy residing in Mattikere HMR Barangay, met with a fatal accident on Tank Bund Road. Anilkumar lost control of his bike at high speed, colliding with a divider. The impact resulted in severe head and chest injuries, leading to his immediate demise at the accident site, as confirmed by the traffic police. In the second incident, Zomato delivery boy Rajesh Kumar (32) lost his life in an accident near HAL Hospital on Suranjana Das Road. Rajesh was traveling from HAL main gate towards JB Nagar cross on his bike when a speeding cab collided with him. The collision caused Rajesh to fall on the road, resulting in significant head injuries. Despite efforts to rush him to Bowring Hospital, Rajesh passed away during transit, as reported by the police. The incidents highlight the dangers faced by delivery personnel on the roads and emphasize the need for enhanced safety measures and awareness within the gig economy.
