Dozens injured as truck crashes into bus stop

A truck crashed into a bus stop at the Gilliot interchange, north of Tel Aviv, injuring dozens of people, according to emergency and rescue services on Sunday. The incident has led to significant casualties, with initial reports indicating that around 40 individuals may have been trapped in the wreckage.

Israel’s rescue service, Magen David Adom (MDA), responded swiftly, treating and transporting 16 injured people to Beilinson and Ichilov hospitals. Among the casualties, four individuals are reported to be in serious condition, two in moderate condition, and four in mild condition, with additional victims being treated on-site.

The crash occurred at approximately 10:08 AM when the truck hit a bus stop on Aharon Yariv Boulevard in Ramat Hasharon. MDA personnel are actively providing medical assistance to the injured, and MDA’s Blood Services have supplied 90 units of blood to the hospitals handling the cases.

Authorities are treating the incident as a suspected terror attack. The Israel Police reported that civilians managed to neutralize the driver at the scene, and investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing. Police are currently securing the area following this alarming event, which raises concerns about safety and security in the region.
