Heggade’s 58th Pattabhisheka Anniversary: ‘Poojyapatha’ Exhibition Opens at Ujire

Ujire: A special exhibition and documentary screening titled “Poojyapatha” depicting the life and contributions of Dharmadhikari Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade were inaugurated at SDM Polytechnic, Ujire, as part of the 58th Pattabhisheka anniversary celebrations of the revered spiritual leader.

Heggade’s close aide and secretary A.V. Shetty inaugurated the exhibition and lauded Dr. Heggade as a model humanitarian whose multifaceted service has contributed immensely to building a healthier and more harmonious society.

“Under the guidance of Dr. Heggade, Dharmasthala has become a centre of inclusive service — from temple and mosque cleanliness drives to women’s empowerment initiatives, lake rejuvenation, alcohol de-addiction camps, and temple restoration projects. His life embodies selfless service and leadership,” Shetty said.

He also noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision to nominate Dr. Heggade to the Rajya Sabha was a national recognition of his enduring contributions.

Presiding over the event, Polytechnic Principal Santosh praised Dr. Heggade’s commitment to education, noting that “among all forms of charity, Vidyadana (education) stands supreme. Providing affordable technical education to rural students is one of his greatest acts of generosity.”

SDM Engineering College Principal Dr. Ashok Kumar, Polytechnic Manager Chandranath Jain, librarian Namitha Shetty, and Mithun Kumar were present. Ishwara Sharma welcomed the gathering, and Sampath Kumar proposed a vote of thanks.

The Poojyapatha exhibition also featured a documentary chronicling Dr. Heggade’s decades of service and achievements. The main Pattabhisheka anniversary celebration will be held at Dharmasthala on October 24 (Friday).
