The election of the Mayor of Municipal Corporation, which has been vacant for the past two months, was held on Wednesday. B Shweta, a member of Ward 31 has been elected as the Mayor.
Three candidates from the Congress, including B Shweta had submitted their nomination papers for the post of Mayor. However, Minchu Srinivas and Kubera have withdrawn their nominations at the last moment.
Speaking to the media after being elected as the Mayor, District In-charge Minister B Nagendra said that there is no confusion among the members of the Municipal Corporation. There is no difference between MLA Nara Bharat Reddy and me. We are all one, united. We are all working according to the ideology of the party.
