PMO Invites Goldsmith Family To Republic Day Parade

A couple from the city, who are in the goldsmith business has received a special invitation from the Prime Minister’s Office to attend the Republic Day parade on January 26. Ramesh Palankar and his wife Annapurna, a beneficiary of Prime Minister Vishwakarma scheme, have got the invitation. SA Ramdas, former Minister and State Convener overseeing the implementation of the Prime Minister’s nine programmes in Karnataka confirmed the Palankar family getting the invite.
Ramesh Palankar’s family has been invited to the Republic Day parade to be held at Red Fort in New Delhi. He is a beneficiary of the Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Scheme, and he is the only beneficiary of the PM Vishwakarma scheme from Karnataka. The Union Ministry of MSME will escort the Palankar family for the prestigious event, Ramadas said.
Ramesh (54) is in the ornament making business for the last 30 years and has become a local sensation due to the invite. He and his wife are eagerly waiting for their maiden flight.
I am very excited to travel by flight, as it is my first time flying. Furthermore, it makes me feel very special and happy that an ordinary goldsmith like me has been invited to the Republic Day event, said Ramesh.

Ramesh’s father and grandfather were also goldsmiths. He got training at Sri Swami Narayan Engraving School at Rajkot for ornament making.
