Supply Of 774 New Buses To NWKRTC Soon, Minister Ramalingareddy

The city has the biggest bus stand apart from Bangalore. This space should be utilised properly. When Shakti Yojana started, 84 lakh women traveled. Now more than 1 crore women passengers have benefited from Shakti Yojana.  884 new buses will be supplied to Northwest Karnataka Road Transport Corporation. Out of which 100 electric buses will be provided for Hubli-Dharwad City. Transport Minister Ramalingareddy said that the remaining 774 buses will arrive at the end of February.

He spoke while inaugurating the foundation stone laying of the construction of  City Transport Bus Stand,   for the upgradation works of Hubli Gokul Road Bus Stand and the inauguration of Pallakki buses on behalf of North West Karnataka Road Transport Corporation at Gokul Road Bus Stand on Monday.

Like the accident compensation insurance offered in other transport corporations, the accident compensation insurance of Rs.1 crore has to be increased in this organization as well. 9 thousand people have been given employment. 3,800 buses   closed during covid are restarted now. Due to this, the shortage of buses for the Shakti Yojana is over. The Minister assured that he will provide brand new buses to the people of this area instead of old ones.

Labour and District In-charge Minister Santosh Lad said that  City Transport Bus Stand will be constructed at  a cost Rs 23 Crore. He said that Hubli New Bus Stand will be renovated and upgraded at Rs 13 crore.

  BS6 Non-AC-Sleeper 4 Pallakki buses with luxury system were launched. These buses have 30 seats. Each vehicle is priced at Rs 45 lakhs, 6 more vehicles will be delivered by the end of this month and the tender process for the purchase of 10 more vehicles is underway.
