Billionaire Sajjan Jindal, Chairman and Managing Director of the JSW Group, faces serious allegations of rape in a First Information Report (FIR) filed at the Bandra Kurla Complex Police Station in Mumbai. The complainant, recounting an incident in January 2022, initially submitted a written complaint in February of the same year. After approaching the court, a directive was issued to the police to register the FIR against Jindal. The FIR, registered on December 13, 2023, a day after the court order, includes sections under the Indian Penal Code (IPC), notably 376 and 354. The complainant, speaking to CNBC-TV18, mentioned approaching the police in February 2023, expressing dissatisfaction with the initial response. The complainant filed a writ petition on December 5, 2023, leading to the court’s directive for FIR registration. While the complainant alleges a delay in the process, Mumbai Police denies any such delay. The case adds a layer of complexity to the legal landscape surrounding high-profile individuals, emphasizing the importance of a thorough and timely investigation.
