The state-level Kambala tournament is set to take place at Kyartur Kambala fields near Ganganadu, Byndoor, on January 7, 2024. The Mahurat ceremony for the event, which will be held under floodlights, was conducted on Friday. Deepak Kumar Shetty, the president of Byndoor Raitha Sangha, expressed his enthusiasm for hosting the tournament in Byndoor for the first time. He emphasized that the event aims to bring together farmers from villages and promote unity. More than ten thousand farmers are expected to participate from across the state. The tournament is organized in a modern manner, and gold medals will be awarded to the winners. The event will feature a grand Kambala festival with the cooperation of the Kambala committee, elders, and various communities. The winners, senior farmers, and Kambala promoters will be felicitated during the event. The Mahurat ceremony included Muhurat puja rituals performed by the local priest Vasudev, with the presence of community leaders and villagers.
