New Delhi
Four individuals apprehended in connection with the Parliament security breach have reportedly claimed collective responsibility for the incident, offering “rote answers” during the Delhi Police Special Cell’s investigation, according to police sources. The accused, who allegedly pre-prepared their responses, have given similar answers, indicating coordinated planning during police interrogations. The absconding suspect, Lalit Jha, is suspected to be the mastermind, but confirmation awaits his apprehension.
Sources revealed that Lalit Jha decided the date for the breach during a meeting in Gurugram, taking possession of the accomplices’ phones before fleeing. He was last traced in Rajasthan’s Neemrana. The accused, associated with the ‘Bhagat Singh Fan Club’ on social media, met in Mysuru about 1.5 years ago and gathered in Delhi on December 10. The Lok Sabha secretariat suspended eight security personnel due to lapses that led to the breach. On the anniversary of the 2001 Parliament terror attack, two individuals breached security, releasing gas and shouting slogans in the Lok Sabha chamber. A case has been registered against the accused under relevant sections of the IPC and UAPA. Four arrests have been made, with Vicky and his wife currently undergoing interrogation. The investigation is ongoing, with efforts to understand the motives and dynamics behind the security breach.
