Under various housing projects in the state, including the houses in progress in earlier stages, the target is to complete 3 lakh houses in the financial year 2023-24, and as on November 28, 2023, 1,12,891 houses have been completed, Housing, Waqf and Minorities Welfare Minister B.Z. Zameer Ahmed Khan said.
He answered a question on dot identification by member Sunil Gowda in the Legislative Council on Wednesday.
At present there are 18,92,756 homeless people and 7,13,950 landless people in the state. To provide accommodation to the homeless families, the government has allocated target to Gram Panchayat/Urban local bodies under various housing schemes and providing housing to the eligible beneficiaries. He said that a total of 6,35,412 houses have been allocated under various housing schemes from 2020-21 to 2022-23 and so far 4,07,923 houses have been sanctioned.
