 Case by case legal action is being taken against all the officers who have collaborated with the land mafia in the illegal expropriation of government land. Besides, Minister Krishna Byre Gowda said that the work of seizing government land has also been started in the pattern of movement.
He was replying to a question raised by Member YA Narayana Swamy in the Legislative Council on Wednesday. Minister Krishna Byre Gowda said, Government land encroachment is a big problem not only in Bangalore but across the state. It is unfortunate that the government officials have joined hands with the land mafia to illegally transfer government lands to private individuals. The government has taken this issue seriously and has taken strict legal action against such corrupt officials, he informed.
Continuing, two FIRs have been filed against the Sub-Divisional Officer of Bangalore in the case of illegal expropriation of government land. A case has also been registered against Anekal Tehsildar KR Pura Tehsildar and Yelahanka Tehsildar. In all these cases, along with the FIR, a criminal case has also been registered and the investigation has been carried out. Case by case action is being taken against all the officers involved in illegal activities across the state, he said.
