The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported on Sunday that a significant number of Hamas militants have surrendered in South Gaza. According to IDF sources, during interrogation, the surrendered Hamas members disclosed that their surrender was a result of feeling abandoned by their leadership. On Saturday, it was revealed that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar had discreetly relocated from the Northern side to South Gaza in a humanitarian convoy, disguising his identity. Images circulating on social media show disarmed terrorists in Jabalya and Khan Yunis. The IDF is currently conducting thorough interrogations to extract more information about Yahya Sinwar and Mohammed Deif, believed to be the masterminds behind the October 7 massacre. The surrender highlights internal challenges within Hamas and the effectiveness of IDF operations in the region.
