Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) announced that India will tour Sri Lanka for a six-match white-ball series in July to August 2024. The series is scheduled after the Men’s T20 World Cup in the West Indies and USA from June 4-30. Despite SLC being under ICC suspension, they are committed to fulfilling their men’s and women’s international commitments. According to the men’s international calendar released by SLC, Sri Lanka is set to play 52 matches in 2024, including 10 Tests, 21 ODIs, and 21 T20Is. The international calendar kicks off with a home series against Zimbabwe in January, followed by a series against Afghanistan. The team will then tour Bangladesh for an all-format series before participating in the 2024 Men’s T20 World Cup. After hosting India for white-ball matches, Sri Lanka will travel to England for three Tests, followed by hosting New Zealand for two Tests in September. The calendar includes series against West Indies and New Zealand in Sri Lanka in October, a tour to South Africa for two Tests, and ending the year with three ODIs and T20Is in New Zealand. Ashley De Silva, CEO of Sri Lanka Cricket, expressed excitement about the upcoming year, stating that the calendar provides players with ample playing opportunities, entertains fans, and offers sponsors significant exposure.
