In relation to the two crash landing incidents, Red Bird Flight Training Academy Pvt Ltd was ordered to re-certify by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Wednesday.

The action was taken in response to two grave incidents involving Red Bird Flight Training Academy aircraft that occurred on October 19 and 22, 2023, very soon after one another.

Following the incident, the DGCA conducted a special maintenance audit of the organization at four sub-bases: Lilabari (Assam), Kalburgi (Karnataka), Kalburgi (Maharashtra), and Seoni, Madhya Pradesh.

Deficits in employee training, maintenance schedules and records, internal audit procedures, tool and store management, and fuel handling and storage were found in the special maintenance audit’s findings.

As a result, Red Bird Flight Training Academy is the target of enforcement action by the DGCA, and a show cause notice has been sent for the shortcomings. Red Bird Flight Training Academy’s corrective measures in response to the maintenance audit’s findings have been examined by DGCA.

According to the evaluation, the flying training organization has not consistently followed the Aircraft Rules, 1937 and civil aviation regulations to guarantee appropriate aircraft maintenance and continuous safe operations.
